NHL fighter guy Bob Proberts death at 45

WINDSOR, Ont. – Prior  Detroit Red Wings NHL tough guy Bob Probert was outdoors boating with his family when a tragic accident took place on Lake St. Clair near Windsor.

Bob Probert developed severe chest pain and collapsed dead around 2 p.m. His father-in-law Dan Parkinson said he performed CPR on the former Red Wings fighter but was unsuccessful in his attempt to revive him.

Bob Probert was picked 46th overall in the 1983 NHL entry draft from Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and played his first game with the Red Wings in the season of 1985-86, where he grew his reputation as one of the strongest fighters in NHL. He retired from the game in 2001-02.
